Mohri Yuko creates installations using elements and phenomena in the exhibition site, including sound waves, magnetic fields and electricity. Following SIAF2014, this will be the second time for her to take part in SIAF. In contrast to the tranquil installation themed on the underground at Seikatei in 2014, she will focus on the vast land of Hokkaido and use a dynamic spatial structure to shake the scale of human perception.
This work inspired by a trip to Hokkaido will be exhibited in Skyway, a midair corridor designed in mountainous surroundings by architect Seike Kiyoshi, at Sapporo City University’s Geijutsu-no-mori Campus. This will be an attempt to transform the human scale through phenomena of sound and light in a long, vast space. The installation will resonate with the splendid scenery of the area adjacent to Art Park and create a moment that integrates moving, seeing and listening.
Performance with Camille Norment and other special guest(s) scheduled on Sunday, August 26.
