This music festival, which started in 2011 with Marewrew as the leading performer and guest artists, is held once a year with the sub-title of Upopo for the Masses. In SIAF2017, OKI and Harada Ikuko from Japan, as well as Cheng Jye-Renn, Chen Chien-Nien, Hao-En Wu, Mic Usay and Tipus Chen, who are indigenous people of Taiwan, will participate in this festival. Otomo Yoshihide will also join them to create a one-of-a-kind special session. A workshop on a live Upopo (a traditional Ainu song) performance with audience members is also planned.
