Social media (Ustream, Facebook and websites), mini-FM and other existing media are also used to create new media. The information accumulated through this project will be archived for future activities in Sapporo.

Art and Research Center

Venue Shiryokan 2F
Director Odai Mami (AIR director, Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio)

With the hope of works being born from experiences in Hokkaido/Sapporo and the start of art projects, SIAF, which started in 2014, actively supports artists’ field surveys and creative activities in Hokkaido/Sapporo. In FY 2015, the Art and Research Workshop was held, in which participants planned and presented projects and works after engaging in research. SIAF has seen many artists participating in SIAF and the above-mentioned workshop, artists and researchers who have stayed in Tenjinyama Art Studio, the base of art-in-residence projects, and artists invited to other projects. Their research processes and various stories will be documented and open to the public to create a new common asset. This may become an inspiration for someone’s research activities and travels, and can be said to be an alternative art history of Sapporo. Talks, performances and other art programs as well as guided tours will be held during the festival to find such processes and stories. This will be an experimental project for research and reproduction.
