Marewrew, a female vocal group reproducing traditional Ainu songs, Shoji Yasushi, a dancer based in Sapporo, and Jung Young Doo, a choreographer and dancer who is engaged in creative activities in South Korea and Japan – these creators with different bodies, voices, rhythms and cultures have met each other and created raprap, a contemporary dance originating in Hokkaido. This dance was first performed in 2016 at Theater Zoo, a small theater facing Nakajima Park, causing a great sensation. The alluring contemporary dance meets mesmerizing Upopo in a festival to create new raprap with viewers.
