Kanta Horio
Artist/engineer. Born in Hiroshima, 1978. Currently lives in Tokyo. Studied acoustics and computer music at Kyushu Institute of Design (Currently Kyushu University’s School of Design).
He explores the natural relationship between machine and sound by creating original machines that generate physical phenomena, or devices where light, sound and vibration interact with each other, and demonstrates them in the forms of live performance of exhibitions. As an engineer, he also produces electronic devices for a variety of projects as well as researches and develops electronic instruments. He is currently exhibiting in “Open Space 2016 Media Conscious” (ICC, Tokyo, 2016) until March 12, 2017.
