Announcement of Three Participating Artists for サイアフ2027 Moerenuma Park Venue

Sapporo International Art Festival 2027 Fashion Designer NAKAZATO Yuima, Swiss Media Art Collective fragmentin, and Dialogue on Art and Technology DAT “Program to Nurture Specialists in Art and Technology” Confirmed for Moerenuma Park
Followed by Talk Events Featuring NAKAZATO Yuima in February and fragmentin and DAT in March
The Sapporo International Art Festival サイアフ is pleased to announce further developments for its upcoming edition, サイアフ2027, scheduled to take place from January 16 to February 21, 2027.
Building on the initial artist announcement in December last year, it has been confirmed that fashion designer NAKAZATO Yuima and the Switzerland-based media art collective fragmentin will present their works at the Moerenuma Park venue.
Furthermore, Dialogue on Art and Technology DATa new project dedicated to nurturing specialists in art and technology, led by Executive Director and Japanese media art pioneer FUJIHATA Masakiwill join サイアフ2027 as a サイアフ2027 Official Partner at the Moerenuma Park venue.

World-renowned fashion designer NAKAZATO Yuima is set to open a solo exhibition in Oulu, Finland, this coming May. The exhibition will showcase a body of work inspired by Nakazato’s fieldwork conducted in Oulu. For サイアフ2027, a selection of works from this exhibition will be presented within the Glass Pyramid at Moerenuma Park.
Oulu, like Sapporo, is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Media Arts, and the two cities have been deepening their creative collaboration. On Friday, February 6, a talk event titled Creative Meeting Between CitiesThe Future of Creative Cities will be held with guests from Oulu. Nakazato is also confirmed to join the event as a guest speaker via online participation.

fragmentin is a Swiss-based art collective consisting of three membersDavid COLOMBINI, Laura NIEDER,and Marc DUBOISwho have gained international acclaim, notably for their recognition at Prix Ars Electronica, a prestigious global competition for media art. While their activities have been primarily centered in Europe, サイアフ2027 will mark their first-ever exhibition in Japan.
With the full support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, fragmentin is scheduled to conduct their research at Moerenuma Park this March to develop a new commission for サイアフ2027. During their residency, a public discussion focused on their creative process for the upcoming work will be held on Saturday, March 7 further details provided in the next section.
サイアフ2027 Official Partner Dialogue on Art and Technology DAT
Dialogue on Art and Technology DAT is a project dedicated to nurturing specialists in art and technology, including media and digital art. Launched in November 2025, this comprehensive training project encompasses everything from educational courses and research to the realization of exhibitions. A series of seven online lectures is currently underway. As a サイアフ2027 Official Partner, DAT will hold an exhibition at Moerenuma Park to present the results achieved by the project participants following the lecture series.
