YUBIWA Hotel
A work continuum of Hitsujiya Shirotama (from Hokkaido), who acts as a playwright, stage director and sometimes actress. She puts on theatrical plays while travelling. She has also been invited to art festivals in Japan and elsewhere, where she has created outdoor plays specific to each site based on local stories and history. Her major works include Long Distance Love, which was performed when the 2001 synchronized terrorist attacks occurred by connecting New York and Tokyo via broadband. In recent years, a play was performed at the sea in the Setouchi Triennale 2013, at a railway in Ichihara Art × Mix 2014, at a snow shed in Echigo-Tsumari Art Tiennale 2015 and at a 400-year-old garden in Art Setouchi 2016.
