Ishikawa Naoki
Born in Tokyo, 1977. Photographer. Completed the doctoral degree program of the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of Arts. Ishikawa participated in the Pole to Pole Project in 2000, walking from the North Pole to the South Pole, and scaled the highest peaks on the seven continents in 2001. Having an interest in anthropology and folklore, he has travelled everywhere from frontiers to cities while producing work. He won the 30th Domon Ken Award with his photo collection Corona (Seidosha). He is the author of Saigo no Bokenka (lit. Last Adventurer) (Shueisha), which won the Kaiko Takeshi Non-fiction Award.
